CHESSMEN

Calvin Miller once observed that God and evil are often close to each other, "like silent chessmen, side by side. Only the color of the squares differ." Holy ground is not a far-off planet, it's next to the unholy, the mundane, the commonplace.
 
You could look around you and despair; or you could look at Who you're standing with, and know that nothing in all of creation will be able to separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
