WELCOME!
Who we are
We are situated in Danville, an extension in the west of Pretoria, South Africa. We started our church on the 1st of January 2007. It is just me and my wife at this stage and we believe that the Lord is with us in this new venture. We are a home based church and we know that the church is going to grow and that there is going to be a few home churches at the end of the year. I believe that the church must be that of the early church in the book of Acts. We will in future work towards building a facility as stipulated in my vision statement. We are a community church and we want to influence our community with the Good News. What does it help if you send missionaries the whole world over but your neighbor is not saved.I ask the Lord everyday to help us in this new venture and I believe that the Lord is going to send the right people to us. Everyone is welcome in our church. I believe that there is no distinction between people and that the Lord made everyone equal. I don't believe in titles. I am set apart to preach the Gospel and so is every child of God.
We also want to invest in households. We believe that a healthy home will house a healthy child of God.
Explanation of our logo:
John 3:14 - 16: "And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so it is necessary [for] the Son of Humanity to be lifted up, so that every [one] believing [or, trusting] in Him shall not perish, but shall be having eternal life. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten [or, unique] Son, so that every [one] believing [or, trusting] in Him shall not perish, but shall be having eternal life!
Jesus died on the cross and He completed the task set before Him with gladness in His heart because He knew that He would bring reconciliation between God and man.
In return for the work Jesus did on the cross we must take up our cross and follow Him.
Read Romans 12:1+2, Luke 9:23, 1Corinthians 9:26, 2Timothy 4:7
Jesus was forced to wear the crown of thrones. One of the accusations brought before Pilate was that Jesus claimed to be the King of the Jews. (Matt.27:11). The Roman soldiers thought that it was the appropriate thing to crown Jesus as the King of the Jews, but instead of a crown of gold our Saviour had to wear a crown of thorns. We must crown the Lord as King in our lives! (Read Matt.27:27-29)
The dove
The dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit. We must rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us in our daily walk with the Lord. It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to remember what the Lord did on the cross. Read Rom 8, John 6:63.
The comma
The Psalms is full of Selah's which means:
Rest awhile, O tried believer, and change the strain to a softer air.
The Amplified Bible explains it as follows:
Psalm 3:4 With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
And that is what we are all about! We must come to a point in our lives, where we can stop with everything that we are busy with and focus on what the Lord did for us on the cross. And what He is still doing for us today. He is the author and finisher of our faith. (Heb 12:2)
Wikipedia explains "selah" as follows:
Selah ( Hebrew: ???) may mean "stop and listen", within the context of a prayer or psalms, is similar in purpose to Amen in that it stresses the importance of the preceding passage.
In this way, Selah is thought to imply that one should pause and reflect on what has been said. Alternatively, Selah may be a musical notation (thus explaining its use throughout Psalms) or may mean "forever", as it does in some places in the liturgy.
